PharmaMar has obtained 3 orphan drug designations from the European Commission (EC) and the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the treatment of soft tissue sarcoma (STS) and ovarian cancer, and for multiple myeloma (MM). Orphan drugs are those that are used to prevent or treat rare very serious or life-threatening diseases.
